A textile design I did a few projects ago initially inspired by birds. The colour palette was taken from the humming bird display case in the National History Museum, London. Ruffles of assorted coloured and sublimation printed polyester chiffon, clustered together on a base of tule.
_Elle_ has released a fully embroidered cover for its September issue as part of the magazine’s redesign. Created by Claire Barrett, founder of London-based embroidery company "Hawthorne & Heaney":http://www.londonhandembroidery.com/, the magazine cover is a minimal ivory-white fabric with stitched logo. The artwork is simply a sewn-on patch, similar to a clothing label, stating “Now what?” in embroidered capitalised type alongside the bar code.
