Little Spines is a yearly publication containing stories and poems from the Creative Writing students from RMIT. My aim was to create a contemporary, stylish publication on a low budget. The style of binding I used (Japanese Stab binding) has an abstract resemblance to an actual human spine visually, and also shares many of its characteristics; being quite ornate and fragile, yet extremely crucial, and vigilantly holds everything together.
This was a "poem" framed in my room until I was six. I read it for two years with a heart full of hope until it disappeared. I've spent almost 30 years trying to find it...the words. And WOW...it's still so relevant. And it makes me want to cry that my child heart loved it.
Caperucita Roja Hand bound book based on the original story of Little Red Riding Hood by Charles Perrault, each paper page has been cut by hand and the poem accompanying the story was written by Emi Hazlett.
