Everything Is Illuminated: A Novel by Jonathan Safran Foer

from IMDb

Everything Is Illuminated (2005)

Everything Is Illuminated (2005) PG-13 7.5 A young Jewish American man endeavors to find the woman who saved his grandfather during World War II in a Ukrainian village, that was ultimately razed by the Nazis, with the help of an eccentric local. (I found this hard to watch but the end was worth it.)

Jonathan imagines the history of his grandfather's village, conjuring a magical fable of startling symmetries that unite generations across time. Lit by passion, fear, guilt, memory, and hope, the characters in Everything Is Illuminated mine the black holes of history

Fantastic Novels with Disappointing Endings

Jonathan Safran Foer is an awesome, Jewish writer. And he is married to Nicole Krauss. Can you say: literary jewish power-couple!?
