I know we equate him with his mid-'90s slacker persona, but may we always remember that Ethan Hawke's turn as Todd Anderson in Dead Poet's Society led to so many of us over-romanticizing him as a quiet, shy poet. Which, obviously isn't true. But who cares (he was the best in this movie).
Troy Dyer - Reality Bites. I've since outgrown Troy, but I used to think that if I were ever going to get married, it would be to the guy that said "...you can't navigate me. I might do mean things, and I might hurt you, and I might run away without your permission, and you might hate me forever. And I know that that scares the shit out of you, because I'm the only real thing that you have." Which sounded way more romantic, somehow, in the 90's.
