Esther Williams

Esther Williams, My grandmother introduced Esther Williams movies to me when I was about seven-years-old and told her that I wanted to be a swimmer and an actress. She was such an inspiration to me at the time.

Esther Williams, photograph for the cover of Modern Screen magazine March 1951 by Nickolas Muray. The color carbro process used to create the photograph is a layered pigment print process, of which Muray was a master. The colors are incredibly rich and vibrant. Light bounces through the paler parts of the photograph and it often subjects seem to emit a glow.

★ "Sweetie, you can't simply sprinkle bullshit with sugar and make it a cupcake." (Believe this is the famous swimmer Esther Williams)

Esther Williams, a 1940's movie star who was a champion swimmer. Consequently, all of her movies feature her swimming. She has several of her own businesses, including her own fabulous swimwear line, and she even inspired the olympics to add synchronized swimming! I admire this woman.
