Possibly late 18th century with later alterations (reworked from an original worn by Georgiana, wife of the 5th Duke of Devonshire). Silk velvet and miniver fur edged with ermine. Chatsworth House.

Another was Georgiana,Duchess of Devonshire,who lived here in a famous 'menage a trois' w/ the 5th Duke & Lady Elizabeth Foster in the 18th century.
The Duke of Devonshire by Sir Thomas Lawrence, 1811 - William George Spencer Cavendish, 6th Duke of Devonshire KG, PC (1790 – 1858), styled Marquess of Hartington until 1811, was a British peer, courtier and Whig politician. Known as the "Bachelor Duke", he was Lord Chamberlain of the Household between 1827 and 1828 and again between 1830 and 1834.
