Drugs are not the answer either. The basics of health must be met first: nutrition, sunshine and fresh air, exercise, connectedness to a community, followed by reality testing, CBT type work and mindfulness. These things bring wellness and recovery.
Recovery is a process of change, through which individuals improve their health & wellbeing. One can "recover" from so many situations, it's about changing unhealthy lifestyles, thought patterns or habits to live a simpler, happier, more for filled life.
