Desmond Llewelyn | actor [Bond movies; such as Goldfinger] The outbreak of World War II in September 1939 halted his acting career, and Llewelyn was commissioned as a second lieutenant in the British army. In 1940, he was captured by the German army in France, and was held as a POW for five years.
This is Q, and even though he has been played by three different actors there is no doubt that he is a nerd. This is the guy that comes up with all of those cool little gadgets that James Bond uses, so for that single reason this guy is a major nerd.

Commencing with 'From Russia with Love', Desmond Llewelyn played the armourer - later christened 'Q' - in all but one of the subsequent EON films until his death, the exception being 'Live and Let Die' (1973), in which the character 'Q' did not appear.
