Du’a on the day of ‘Arafat The Prophet (SAW) said: The best invocation is that of the Day of Arafat, and the best that anyone can say is what I and the Prophets before me have said: "Laa ‘ilaha ‘illallahu wahdahu la sharika lahu, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu wa Huwa ‘ala kulli shay’in Qadir.” None has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone, Who has no partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He is Able to do all things.(Tirmidhi)

Offering the Qurbani

When the Day of Arafat is completed, and Allah has liberated His believing servants from Hell, all of the Muslims then celebrate a holiday. Then there is a common rite that they all undertake (the pilgrims and those back home) to draw near to Allah, slaughtering the hadiy (sacrificial animal). [see link]

Yaum Arafat or The Day of Arafat, is the ninth day of the month of Hajj and the second day of Hajj rituals. At dawn all pilgrims make their way from Mecca to the Plain of Arafat at the foot of Mount Arafat where they stand all day until sunset in supplication and devotion praying for God’s forgiveness. Those not partaking in Hajj will often spend the day in fasting and devotion.
