Ryan's Daughter filmed in locations around the Dingle Peninsula, Co. Kerry, Ireland. A fictional village called Kirrary was built especially for the 1970 film ‘Ryan’s Daughter’. The film was directed by David Lean and tells the story of a married Irish woman who has an affair with a British officer during World War 1, amidst fierce opposition from her nationalist neighbours.
