This is the perfect pattern for a beginner! It allows you to practice a foundation chain, and single crochet. The best part is, once you are done, you have a fashionable scarf!

I made something similar... instead of the buttoned flap I used two different colors for the main chains then made another chain in a third color and wrapped it tightly around about 4-5 inches of the other chains.

Homemade "Chain Loop Scarf" This beautiful scarf/necklace is not something you see everyday, it is sure to turn heads. It can be worn as a long necklace or as a scarf when lopped around twice. You won't need to worry about tangles because the yarn handle keeps all the strands together. It is the perfect piece to dress up any casual outfit. It is so easy you must try it!

Infinity chain scarf is 14” long and made with a Q and K hook. You’ll need one skein of bulky yarn and a button if you choose. Very easy for beginners.

I chained 220 with a 7mm hook (I always, always use a hook two sizes up for a foundation chain when I'm making a scarf - it stops that annoying curve) and then, using a 6mm hook, simply worked half trebles (half doubles US) in the back loops.

Crocheted "paper" chain garland--could do this for any season, but red, green and white (how about ALL gold?) would make a great garland for the tree or bunting to string over the mantle or from the tops of curtain rods.
