IDA-The zoo killed a young giraffe named Marius to avoid over breeding. The zoo knew his genes would be over represented, celebrated his life, then justified his slaughter with the claim that he was of no genetic value. Copenhagen Zoo is taking a dangerous and irresponsible position, teaching kids it is acceptable to use animals for entertainment and individual animals are expendable.
