Buddy Ebsen - In 1941, before the war, Buddy taught seamanship to Naval Reserve OCS candidates. When the war started he enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard and was commissioned a Lieutenant (jg). During the war he served his country on the Navy Patrol Frigate, Pocatello, and was honorably discharged in 1946.
