To clean diamond jewelry simply oak for 20 minutes in a solution of one cup warm water and 1/4 cup ammonia. Then gently scrub with a soft-bristle toothbrush, getting into the small areas between the diamond and the setting. Rinse with warm water, and lay on a tissue to dry. If your diamonds are set in platinum, this method will also clean the setting.

DIY Jewelry Cleaner: microwave 1c. water for 2min. cover bottom of bowl with aluminum foil, add water, 1TBS salt, 1TBS baking soda, 1TBS dish detergent. works great for gold, brass, nickel, and sterling silver
Clean gold jewelry: Add few drops of mild dishwashing liquid to bowl filled with 2 cups of warm water. Drop gold pieces into solution; let soak for 15 minutes. Lift jewelry out solution; gently scrub it soft-bristle toothbrush to remove dirt lodged in nooks/ crannies. Swish piece in bowl of warm water to remove soap. Using soft cloth, dry jewelrywell;buff a little to bring back shine.
