Jerry Uelsmann - forerunner of photomontage. This guy was doing what we do in photoshop, but working meticulously in the dark room. He broke the rules of photography to develop some beautifully strange and surreal imagery.
Death in the Afternoon. According to Hemingway: "Pour one jigger absinthe into a Champagne glass. Add iced Champagne until it attains the proper opalescent milkiness. Drink three to five of these slowly."
American Splendor - A splendidly original comedy, with some of the best use of 4th-wall jokes & meta humour, yet it never forgets its roots: the complexity and struggle of everyday mediocrity. (8.5/10)
