For 20 years, photographer Gerd Ludwig has been photographing the aftermath of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant disaster of 1986 in the Ukraine.

An estimated 47,000 people of the city of Pripyat were evacuated after the explosion in 1986. Ukrainians marked the 31st anniversary of Chernobyl's tragedy on 26 April 2017.
