This is the vegetarian version of Chicken in a Butter-tomato Sauce, for which a tandoor-roasted bird is cut up and enfolded in a rich, creamy sauce. This vegetarian incarnation is much loved and generally eaten with Indian flatbreads, especially naans.
Barbari is my favorite Persian bread, but I like it sans poppy seeds. This is delicious with yogurt or feta or butter or basically anything...and is really good as a pizza crust, too. Also this is a good recipe!
Peshwari naan - my recipe for filling: 2 tbsp each of cashews, almonds, raisins/raisins, then 4 tbsp shredded coconut. Pulse in food processor until finely chopped. Then pour into small bowl and drizzle honey over top and mix to combine. Flour was 2 cups, milk was just over 1/2 cup. Dough was not stretchy though more like biscuit raggedness.
