Tower of London

This summer, the Tower Of London will be surrounded by a sea of crimson. This installation, conceived by artist Paul Cummins and designer Tom Piper, will commemorate each and every British or Colonial fatality from World War 1 by planting 888, 246 red ceramic poppies in a flowing sea around the tower. My mum purchased a poppy for a relative lost in this battle. Absolutely beautiful.

Blood Sept Lands and Seas of Red (Paul Cummins & Tom Piper). I absolutely love this project to mark the centenery of the outbreak of WW1. It was revealed on the centenery of the day war was declared and more ceramic poppies will be planted out of and around the Tower each day until armistice day in November. A Roll of Honour is called each evening at dusk. Proceeds from sales of the poppies are divided equally between six service charities. Tower of London Remembers - Buy a poppy £25
