The Flag - The Nicaraguan flag consists of three horizontal stripes and an emblem in the center. The blue stripes resemble the water on both sides of the land (the white stripe). The words on to of the emblem say "Republica de Nicaragua" and on the bottom "America Central." The five volcanoes in the middle of the triangle stand for the five Central American countries.
