Catherine of Braganza (Catarina Henriqueta; 25 November 1638 – 31 December was the wife of King Charles II of England. As such, she was the Queen consort of England, Scotland and Ireland from 1662 to

Catherine of Braganza, wife of King Charles II. She introduced England to drinking tea, already a popular custom among nobility in her native Portugal.  She and Charles produced no heirs, though he did father several illegitimate  children with mistresses.
