Cast: Cate Blanchett- I would cast Cate Blanchett as Thane's mother Ganaire because she has proved through her portrayal of Lady Tremaine in Cinderella that she can play a cold, distant, uncaring character like Ganaire.
l-o-t-r: "Well, Cate Blanchett. Her husband doesn’t know but she and I are going to get married quite soon. Which will surprise a lot of people. But you see, we only met at a party [during the making of ‘The Lord of the Rings’]... Here, we had a whole week, or maybe two. That was a thrill because she’s a great screen actor and a very congenial person, for me... So there wasn’t a moment that we didn’t have stuff to talk about.” Ian McKellen on reuniting w/ Cate Blanchett in The Hobbit
“Cate Blanchett epitomises the woman for whom I design. Her graceful figure shows off my clothes as they are meant to be seen and worn. With her growing maturity, she has come to embody the ideal Armani woman: serene, confident, elegant, and at ease with herself and with the world.” - Giorgio Armani
Cate Blanchett by Annie Leibovitz I love that this photograph is in black and white. The composition is fun and alive, bringing out a joyful emotion which makes the photograph a lot more appealing in my opinion. This shot looks like it was taken when she was actually speeding along the path on her bike, which gives the photo a bit more action as you can see her hair blowing in the wind.
