last time we were in Cambodia, we by passed Phnom Penh because I honestly didn't know if I could handle that city emotionally. I've never been so confronted by raw emotions in a country before. If I didn't know for sure I was called to China, my heart would be in Cambodia in a second.
Months after the liberation of Cambodia by the Vietnamese People's Army in 1979, East German schoolchildren in Zella-Mehlis donate food supplies to the Cambodian people who have been ravaged by the US aerial bombings from 1969-1970 and under the Khmer Rouge regime of Pol Pot during the 1975-1979 Cambodian Genocide.
Cambodia - I will always have a special love for this country and its people, what amazed me the most is how many lost and lived through the genocide killings of the Khmer Rouge, and came out of it to tell their stories and I got the chance to hear personal experiences of it all... Cambodian people are without doubt the friendliest and most humble people I've ever met.
