For my daughter's first birthday, we had a very hungry caterpillar theme. I made her smash cake myself. The cake was Duncan Hines white cake mix and a can of club soda (she is allergic to eggs and milk) and the frosting was a can of coconut cream chilled in the fridge overnight, then whipped with a few teaspoons of maple syrup.
