She rescued Britain from ruin & laid the groundwork for an extraordinary economic renaissance, during her 11 year term. Known as the "Iron Lady", a nickname that became associated with her uncompromising politics & leadership style, she simply would not allow Britain to be pushed around, particularly by military dictators.
