* Bourbon chicken * A flavorful chicken dish named after Bourbon Street in New Orleans, Louisiana This was a copycat recipe I found & modified of the Bourbon Chicken sold in most Chinese take-outs; which rarely use bourbon as a component.
Straight off of Bourbon Street in New Orleans, this tender bourbon chicken is covered in a slightly sweet sauce with a little kick. It's a true taste of the South you won't be able to resist. There's even instructions for making it in the slow cooker! You can't get any easier than that!!
I searched and finally found this recipe on the internet. It is a copycat of the Bourbon Chicken sold in Chinese carry-outs in my hometown. This recipe is so good that my sons gobble it up leaving me just a spoonful. Their excuse was they thought I had eaten. Editors Note: Named Bourbon Chicken because it was supposedly created by a Chinese cook who worked in a restaurant on Bourbon Street.
Sticky Bourbon Chicken. Actual bourbon chicken not that sweet & sour recipe. Great weeknight or company meal. Can assemble the night before. Season before serving. My thighs needed only about half an hour to cook before broiling min each side.
