airplane view - The Bosphorus, Istanbul, Turkey. It is not a river, it is a "waterway" linking two seas the Black Sea to the Marmara Sea. The bridge links two continents, Asia and Europe; the only one that does that in the world .

When visiting Istanbul, Turkey, the team at Luxury Istanbul (who were our guides for two days), organised a private Bosphorus cruise on a yacht with our guide and a 2-man crew - we loved it! We went all the way to the Bosphorus bridge and returned to the port, clocking in quite a few landmarks on the way. The boat was very comfortable and spacious - perfect for a group of friends visiting the city.

The Bosphorus, Istanbul, Turkey. It is not a river, it is a "waterway" linking two seas the Black Sea to the Marmara Sea. 8,000 years ago, it was land, and the Black Sea was a very large lake . On the left is Europe or Avrupa, on the right is Asia or Anadolu, and the bridge obviously links the two continents, the only one that does that in the world . Make sure to take a public ferryboat ride up and down the Bosphorus.
