Clive Staples Lewis was born on 11-29-1898 and died on 11-24-1963. This famous author was a prolific writer of dozens of books over the course of his career. The seven books which comprise the "Chronicles of Narnia" fantasy series are, of course, his best known work. He was a close friend of another fantasy writer, J.R. R.Tolkein (The Hobbit, etc.). Both men were deeply religious and Lewis was highly regarded by theologians, scholars and general readers alike.
