Peeps get the wrong idea from the huge fashion label "Nasty Gal". Their clothes are awesome! The boutique was named after a Betty Davis album & song, who was a 1960's/70's model & funk singer. She stirred up sexual controversy, & surrounded herself with the hippest of the hip back in the day. She was married to Miles Davis for one year, & introduced him to Jimi Hendrix & Sly Stone. Rumor has it that she had an affair with Hendrix. It was her guts that got her the namesake. #NastyGal
Betty Davis is a funk, rock and soul singer-songwriter and was Miles Davis' second wife. After the breakup of her marriage, Davis moved to London to pursue her modelling career. She wrote music (a passion since childhood) while in the U.K. and returned to the U.S. Her first album, Betty Davis, was released in 1973. We love Betty Davis for her unique style of fashion and music and she will always be the coolest sister in the 70s to us!
