Wear Sunscreen has a mix of wit and wisdom. Mary Schmich wrote it for a Chicago Tribune column in June 1997 - think she was inspired by the same muse as Max Ehrmann who wrote Desiderata. Baz Luhrmann adapted it and recorded it to music in 1999. It went on to become a big radio hit.

I totally agree with all of it, especially the part about friends who knew you when Wear Sunscreen Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it’s worth.
