It resulted in 20 deaths.80 wounded and one helicopter pilot captured.among the raid party and rescue forces,including Pakistani,and Malaysian troops.US sources estimate between 1,500 and 3,000 Somali causalities,including civilians.

The operation to secure & recover crews of both helicopters drew the raid into an overnight standoff in the city. Operation resulted in 18 deaths, 80 wounded & one helicopter pilot captured among the US raid party and rescue forces. One Pakistani soldier and 1 Malaysian soldier were killed. American sources estimate between 1500 & 3000 Somali casualties, including civilians.
