I love the Japanese twist to this 1958 mid-century home. I think it complements it really well. I love the charred wood siding, the redwood thin slatted fencing, and the horizontal sidelights in the door. Elegant and natural. "Nature takes the limelight in this 1958 John Burrows house. The residence’s charred Japanese wood exterior, called shou sugi ban, distracts from the fact that it is a man made structure among the Lake Forest Park woods in Washington."
