Phalibois automaton of 6 dolls dancing to a fiddler’s tune. With 3 airs in his repertoire under the shade of an autumnal arbour, it’s a portrayal of 18th Century courting couples, made in Paris in the late 1870s.
Antique Palais Royal musical Grand Piano sewing box. The carcase of high quality flame mahogany with gilt bronze mounts and ebonised legs. Lift the lid and the sewing compartment is revealed with Palais Royal mother of pearl sewing items. If you depress a set of keys on the left hand side it sets off the music box fitted in the compartment below the sewing tools. Circa 1830.
A fine quality antique musical box in the form of a miniature grand piano. Constructed of gilt bronze and hand painted Austrian enamel . All around the body of the piano it is painted with polychrome scenes of courting couples in rural idylls and with winged putti in orchards. The movement is key wound from below. Austria circa 1890.
