Loosening the Knots of Anger Through Mindfulness Practice
In our consciousness there are blocks of pain, anger and frustration called internal formations. They are also called knots because they tie us up and obstruct our freedom. When someone insults us or does something unkind to us, an internal formation is created in our consciousness. I like the fact this portrait is of the same person and same facial expressions but many different angles are shown. The artist has pieced together fragments of the same person into one picture. I would like to link this style into my art by piecing together fragments.
Jessica Rimondi I like how the paint validates the emotions and expressions within this portrait, by the limited palette it structures the shapes and forms. Then to have a deeper depth of what is trying to be convey and incorporated by the use of the paint with the techniques being able to enforce the concepts. I would like to experiment with my own developments to have a source of vivid expression, to allow the painting to speak for itself and not have any narrative connotation towards it…
Desperately tearing at the face we dont want to exist in or been seen with, to not be visible, to destroy any trace of it or life. That noise, roaring out with the horrible realisation at what we are and have always been and will spend the rest of our lives healing. We cant name that, or give it justice with words... But this art is it.
