Meet Jessie Graff, the Supergirl stuntwoman and American Ninja Warrior competitor who made history (again) on the show, where advanced athletes compete in near-impossible obstacle courses. In season five she was the first woman to qualify for the city finals. In this season, she's the first woman to conquer the new 14.5 foot Warped Wall (aka SUPER HARD) in the Los Angeles qualifiers. And she did it all while wearing a Wonder Woman costume. (photo: Brandon Hickman, NBC)
For his 11th birthday, my son wanted his own backyard American Ninja Warrior Birthday Party competition! So we set about constructing a course in our backyard that matches the American Ninja Warrior theme and challenges, at a level that kids can actually do. Here's how we did it:
DIY American Ninja Warrior Backyard Obstacle Course
American Ninja Warrior themed cake! (Just a photo not click through.) I made the Twizzler part using a ribbon holder from Michael's that I spray painted silver, Twizzler "ropes" and a Lego guy attached with jewelry wire from Michael's, the 7 made from glued on model magic balls and attached with wire. This amazing pastry shop made the rest of the cake using colors from the show, a pool under the Twizzler section and flags and the Warped Wall out of thin fondant (and lollipop sticks).
