When he was christened, the space for his father's name on the baptismal certificate was left blank &  the priest wrote "illegitimate".Alois was raised in a house she shared at Strones with her elderly father, Johannes Schicklgruber.

Alois Hitler, Jr. (1882-1956), the half-brother of Adolf Hitler. He emigrated to Liverpool, England, but returned to Germany in 1914. It is believed that he was arrested by the British at the end of World War II, but was released after it emerged he had not joined the Nazi party. He reportedly later made money from selling autographed photos of his step-brother before his death in Hamburg, Germany in 1956.
