Honolulu's Ala Moana Center, the largest open-air shopping center in the United States. I have never seen so many stores! And most had men in 3 piece suits to open the doors!
ROKKAKU, Ala Moana Mall - If you're going to go shopping, go to Ala Moana. While you're there, go to Rokkaku for dinner. This is our favorite splurge meal. They use great ingredients and very traditional Japanese techniques. Save room for a Kamameshi (rice cooked in a big potted jar - stirred for 30 minutes). Best seat in the house? chatting with the cook at the grill counter or reserve a tatami room.
Shopping on Oahu is a fun adventure. Whether you are looking for haute couture, local island art, or everything Hawaiiana, you are likely to find it at Ala Moana Mall, Aloha Stadium Swap Meet, Aloha Tower Marketplace, or at the Ward WArehouse & Ward Center. (the girls will want to go here)
