Air Force Boeing Stratofortress (s/n dropping bombs over Vietnam. This aircraft flew its final combat mission on 29 December 1972 and was one of the three final aircraft to bomb North Vietnam during "Operation Linebacker II".
A flight of U. Air Force Phantom fighter bombers refuel from a tanker aircraft prior to making a strike against communist targets in North Vietnam. The Phantoms are fully loaded with 750 pound general purpose bombs and rockets.

Thomas Barnes spent 21 months serving in Vietnam as an operator/repairman of electronic equipment on the OV-1 aircraft. He liked his work so much, he voluntarily extended his enlistment. Throughout his tour, Barnes took hundreds of photographs, creating a unique record of his service. In this picture, Spec.
