Acting and performing is a very significant part of my life. I didn't even realize how much it meant to me and how much I loved doing it until I got into college. I am constantly being told how good I am at it, but even still, I don't really see it. If you can be good at something that you genuinely enjoy, then it isn't a course or a profession, it becomes a calling.
My tutor Sonya often says that learning your lines is only 2% of being an actor and I feel that this quote emphasizes this. I have been influenced by the fact that I have to make my lines sound natural, sound like they aren't lines at all.
This connects to the topic, for it presents the idea of why over acting is not the best method in terms of portraying full and complete honesty. The only way you will gain success, especially in film, is acting to your truest self, not over doing it. Sometimes, the most silent action is the loudest to the audience.
