154 YEARS AGO - November 19, 1863. Not far from the Jennie Wade House is a living witness to the dramatic events of 1863. Located directly across the street from the Farnsworth House, a large sycamore tree survives. It was standing during the battle and would have been passed by Abraham Lincoln while on his way to give the Gettysburg Address in the Soldiers' National Cemetery.
