Antwerp’s old Stock Exchange's spectacular interior hall was constructed during the 19th century to replace an earlier building designed by Domien de Waghemakere, which had burned down in 1858. The Stock Exchange building off Meir Street in Antwerp was closed in 2003 due to fire regulations. All but abandoned over the last decade, plans are reportedly afoot that will see the grand structure transformed into a 5-star hotel and public city lounge.
Overgrown old car junkyard Other people look at this and see junk. I see families gathered in the front yard as Dad brings home the shiney new car. So many memories attached to each of those rusted hulks.
Chateau Hogemeyer, built around 1750 in Belgium. Many people have lived here and did some work to it. The chapel was added around 1860, then all info just stops. Then in 2001 the “chateau” and attached farm became monuments, but it was abandoned for some time and the weather took its toll. Some people have tried to save it, however costs are just too high.
