atie Walsh (C) and Helen Richardson (L): The Team GB Olympic hockey players got married in September this year, with Walsh captaining the hockey side to a Bronze medal at London 2012 – the nation’s first Olympic medal in the discipline in 20 years – with Richardson also featuring in the third-place play-off team. The pair were together for 5 years before they tied the knot, and have swiftly turned their heads towards Rio 2016 with ambitions of securing Gold.

Team GB: every Olympic gold, silver and bronze medallist

Love me some Mo! Mo Farah's and double gold is one of the defining moments of the London 2012 Olympics.

What if the Olympic medals table was determined by golds per capita? At the halfway stage it's looking like a very good Olympics for Team GB. With 10 golds, 13 silvers and 7 bronzes, we're well on our way to achieving a best ever away Games.

Mo Farah successfully defended his Olympic 5,000m title on a day when Team GB ensured they will leave Rio with a bigger medal haul than London 2012. Farah's victory added to his gold in the 10,000m and secured a repeat of the distance double he achieved on home soil four years ago. The medal was Team GB's 65th of the Olympics, equalling London's tally. The 2012 total was then eclipsed when Britain's women won bronze in the final of the 4x400m relay.
