Toile de Jouy is the classic French fabric of the post-Revolution people. My favorite place to shop for unique color combinations is in Monte Martre in Paris, where close-out bolts land from large-scale design projects. Expect to pay a tiny fraction of what it originally cost. And the size, quality, and printing of the fabric far exceeds anything I've found domestically.
