For most people the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about flexibility training are static stretches. This is not wrong. Static stretches are great but unfortunately they bring close to no results at all for beginners. See it this way: Imagine there was a cup on the table in front of you and with the power of your mind you could make the cup levitate. It becomes plausible that with some training and extra focus you would be able to make the cup fly across the room without ever touching it. In reality the cup does not levitate and it is impossible to understand how to get better at making the cup levitate. That is how it feels when you are at the beginning of your flexibility
How to Crane Pose
The first step to mastering the crow pose is to truly understand how it works. Start on a deep squat and place the spot where your triceps meet your elbow on top of the knees. Being bent both joints create a flat surface which offers an outstanding support surface. From here lean towards the front and place your hands on the floor about shoulder wide apart. Keep the contact between your triceps and knees. Now continue to lean, bend your elbows a bit more for your face to go closer towards the floor, load your hands with weight and from your tippy toes take your feet off the floor. The more you bend your elbows the closer your face will be to the floor. Play around with the angle and see what is comfortable for you.
