Grade 5 pupils investigate cultural clothing as part of their Xhosa syllabus and they also become familiar with typical materials commonly used by the Xhosa women. They create their own dolls dressed in traditional material with the headgear bead accessories, some even have a baby on the back. The dolls have to be dressed in the  schwe schwe material. They are encouraged to use beads which is very prominent in the rich culture of the Xhosas.

As part of their fruit and vegetables theme Chameleons and Dolphins brought fruit to school, wich was then cut up, introducing the pupils to the inside of the fruit. They spoke about halves and quarters. They made fruit sosaties with the left-overs.

Grade 6 pupils dressed up as superheroes and villains. The activity is linked to an Art and Technology project which involves the creation of a stop-motion movie using plasticine and iPads.

Grade 3 students used critical thinking skills to start off their theme, "Endangered Animals". In groups of four they started with a "flat chat sheet" to jolt down what they already know about the theme, sharing with other groups what they had listed. From the ideas they compiled a "tree map", classifying the content into three groups. The ideas were all compiled together into a "bubble map" which was then copied into their workbooks.
