I couldn't put this book down. Jeannette Walls is an awesome writer and keeps you engrossed in this book! Her next book "Half Broke Horses" (which precedes this story) is also a great read. The Glass Castle: A Memoir by Jeannette Walls

In newlywed Nerys Watkins accompanies her husband to a missionary posting in the exotic lakeside city of Srinagar, where she is swept up in a liaison that completely changes her life, a transformation that is explored by a descendant generations later.
