In with Alium - Kniphofia uvaria also called red-hot pokers or torch lilly is a perennial, and winter hardy to zones 5-10 and will grow 2-5' tall.  They come in several varieties ranging from red-orange-yellow which bloom ranging from May-October. Must be planted in full sun. It attracts humming birds & butterflies.
