5 Tips to keep your motorbike running smoothly. 1. Keep it Clean. A dirty motorcycle is just down right unpleasant. Not only does it cover up the information console and other lights, dirt also builds up and collects in all the nooks and crannies. This leads to a lot of unwanted dirt in all the wrong places, make sure to get your motorcycle cleaned after each ride. 2. Tyre Pressure. Keeping the tyre’s at the correct pressure is crucial if you want to achieve a good fuel economy. If a motorcycle is running on low tyre pressure, it will give you a low fuel economy. Keeping the correct pressure will give you better mileage. 3. Stopping. Most of us like going fast on a motorcycle but there’s no point going fast if you can’t decelerate in time to avoid a collision. For best results ensure your brake pads are not running low. 4. Chain it right. Most people ride motorcycles with the drive chain either too loose or at the point of falling off. Not only can a loose drive chain reduce mileage, it can also lead to the chain slipping off or even damaging the casing. On the other hand keeping the drive chain too tight is also not advised as there have been cases where the chain has snapped due to the excess tension it’s under. 5. Keeping it straight. With the conditions of roads constantly changing, there are going to be instances where going into a pothole or over a bump is un-avoidable. The sudden impact can throw the wheels out of alignment. Make sure to take your motorcycle to get the wheel alignment checked and corrected on a regular basis.
