This lesson discusses three major reform movements of the Antebellum Era - the Temperance Reform Movement, Education Reform, and the Prison Reform Movement. Students will read about the problems the reformers were trying to address. They will then brainstorm solutions to those problems by discussing how social issues can be addressed or improved by society. The issues of the 1800s have carried over to the modern day, so they are very relatable to students.
