It has been a staple for generations of black South Africans, and is a required condiment at South African braais, or barbecues.
"bunny chow | Tumblr" - a very South African food: stew in a hollowed-out breadloaf. Did you know there's a political backstory? Bunny chow was served to non-whites who were not allowed into restaurants. It was an early version of "to-go" takeaway food.
