Maxi’s, Midrand: the restaurant above the highway. The Maxi’s Restaurant on the bridge in Midrand has fascinated me for a while. I think the idea was absolutely brilliant; sipping on a hot cup of coffee (no alcohol is sold on the premises) as vehicles zoom past below you, is an experience like no other - almost like being on top of the world.
